EMMA + SAUL

LONDON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

ISLINGTON TOWN HALL WEDDING

Emma + Saul’s wedding warmed my soul. Their nuptials were about more than just the union of two people; they have an incredible little girl who was so much a part of the celebrations and the sentiment of the day. The love and warmth in their little trio was palpable.

Their ceremony took place at Islington Town Hall; this is one of my favourite places in London for a civil ceremony. Whenever I think of this gorgeous venue, those iconic, joyful confetti shots spring to mind. They said their ‘I dos’ in the imposing Council Chambers, with it’s wood panelling, incredible vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows. The windows in this ceremony room mean the room is flooded with beautiful natural light perfect for wedding photography.

Emma’s arrived calm and relaxed. With a beaming smile she pushed the pram up the ramp and into the town hall. Yes, she was a bride, but first and foremost a devoted mother; and who better to accompany her to her wedding than her one year old best friend. Emma looked incredible in a guipure embroidered dress by Self Portrait and her hair elegantly sling into a chignon. Effortlessly chic.

As a mark of respect Emma + Saul couldn’t have confetti due to their wedding being on the same day as the state funeral of the Queen. Despite this we still made sure we got a fabulous shot of them exiting down Islington Town Hall’s iconic steps. The Town Hall’s corridors were a fabulous location for some post ceremony portraits, the light is beautiful and they are brimming with gorgeous art deco features.

Their reception took place in Spring at Somerset House. Before the champagne started flowing we took a wander around the infamous courtyard with it’s striking architecture; a stunning backdrop for some more relaxed portraits as the happy couple took ten minutes away from their guests.

Spring is the perfect place for an intimate dinner if you are planning a small wedding reception with your nearest and dearest. Emma and Saul dined in the their glass ceiling garden room. Large windows of any sort are a wedding photographers dream, the light was beautiful.

I didn’t cover Emma and Saul’s evening reception but I have no doubt that it was filled with the same warmth and love as what is documented here. Enjoy!
